The Road to CFGC FALL 2026 Begins!
It’s the summertime and the Fall 2026 season is on the way! We're excited to welcome schools, competitors, and community members back to the Collegiate Fighting Game Conference. This season features the return of our four official titles, free registration opportunities for HBCU students and some changes and updates to make the experience concrete and easy.
Here's everything you need to know about the Fall 2026 season:
GAME titles & BROADCAST SCHEDULE
CFGC will continue to highlight and support the same four titles of last season:

Weekly Match & Broadcast Schedule
This season, all CFGC broadcasts will take place across two dedicated nights each week.

This new structure allows for improved broadcasts, more focused coverage of each title, and a smoother competitive experience for players and viewers alike. Additional details regarding the layout will be announced later this summer.

Registration for Fall 2026 opens August 10th at 12:00PM CST.
Students may register individually or through an eligible college, university, club, or esports program. To participate, students must be actively pursuing a degree, certification, trade program, or other recognized post-secondary educational pathway.
Eligible participants include:
College and university students
Community college students
Trade and technical school students
Students enrolled in certification programs
Please note that dual-credit high school students are not eligible to compete in CFGC.
HBCU Students Compete Free
As we continue to push out opportunities, students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) will be eligible to register and compete free of charge.
This initiative is designed to reduce barriers to entry and create additional opportunities for HBCU students to participate in collegiate esports and fighting game competition.
Guaranteed Seasonal Prizing
Every season, CFGC is committed to recognizing student achievement through varies of awards. Top 3 for every Division throughout our game titles will receive some type of prizing.

Additional prizing opportunities, including gaming peripherals, merchandise, partner rewards, scholarships, travel support, and other incentives, may be offered throughout the season based on sponsorships, partnerships, and special initiatives. Because these opportunities vary from season to season, any bonus prizes will be announced separately as they become available.
THE STUDENT CASTER PROGRAM
CFGC’s Student Caster Program applications launched June 1st. We’re looking for our first cohort and new group of casters willing to learn, grow, and be the foundation for future upcoming casters.
Students will receive opportunities to practice their craft, work alongside experienced talent, receive feedback, and contribute directly to CFGC broadcasts throughout the season.

finals week updates
Following the Spring 2026 season, we've made the decision to keep CFGC's Finals Week for Division 1 fully online for the 2026–2027 academic school year..
While we enjoyed bringing students together in person, our priority remains ensuring that every eligible competitor has an equal opportunity to participate, regardless of travel resources or school support.
With that being said, we're excited to create additional in-person opportunities through CFGC Regionals and community events this year!
Introducing CFGC Regionals
New for the 2026–2027 academic year, CFGC will begin supporting regional events throughout the year.
These events are designed to bring together players, schools, and communities through additional competition and in-person experiences outside of the conference season.
NOTE that Regional events will not affect official CFGC standings, rankings, playoff qualification, or championship seeding.
Regional #1: Haunted Skies
October 23–25, 2026
Hosted at University of North Florida, Haunted Skies will serve as CFGC's first regional event of the league.
The event will feature:
Open Brackets
High School Brackets
Collegiate Brackets
Haunted Skies is designed to bring together competitors from multiple levels of play while providing a space for students, schools, and local communities to connect through fighting games.
Additional information regarding registration, game titles, and travel opportunities will be announced in the coming months.
We have some more huge announcements coming soon. We appreciate everyone who continues to pour back and support CFGC’s initiatives within the collegiate esports and fighting game community! Continue to follow us under our social platforms for more exciting news.
