The Collegiate Fighting Game Conference (CFGC) is proud to introduce the 2026–2027 Student Caster Program, a year-long development initiative developed and designed to help aspiring student commentators gain real-world experience, mentorship, and professional broadcast opportunities.

What Is the Student Caster Program?

The Student Caster Program is a structured initiative and experience that combines:

  • One-on-one mentorship

  • Live broadcast opportunities

  • Professional equipment support

  • VOD review and feedback

  • Competitive fighting game knowledge development

  • Access to a growing network of casters and industry professionals

Students accepted into the program will spend the school year developing their craft through regular broadcasts, mentor check-ins, and hands-on experience across CFGC events and productions.

Growth and pathway tiers

Every student progresses through a development pathway and different tiers designed to meet them where they are.

TIER 1: Student Caster

Learn the fundamentals by observing broadcasts, studying game knowledge, and participating in practice casts.

TIER 2: Caster

Begin working regular season broadcasts, casting matches solo and alongside other commentators while receiving ongoing feedback.

TIER 3: Lead Caster

Take on higher-profile opportunities, receive priority consideration for major broadcasts, and help guide the next generation of student casters.
