General Questions

  • CFGC stands for Collegiate Fighting Game Conference. We’re here to bring the competitive spirit and support seen with other collegiate esports titles to the realm of fighting games. A lot of schools have competitive Smash scenes, but we want to spread the love to other games, too. We’re a group of fighting game fanatics that want to bring in and bring up the next gen of fighting game competitors. We want to give you the tools you need to step into high-level competition!

  • No, not at all! CFGC is here to support players and students at all levels of play.

    If you’re new to fighting games and as the season progresses, ELO ranking will be adjusted and your competition will get closer to your level. Between seasons, ELO will carry over, and your season will be off to an even smoother start.

  • We currently support:

    • Street Fighter 6

    • 2XKO

    • TEKKEN 8

    • Guilty Gear: Strive

    We also support other game titles with the support of our program: CFGC: Underground! As we continue to grow and progress, we want to provide as many titles as possible in the fighting game scene.

  • If you’d like to compete, you must qualify the following:

    • A college or university pursuing an associate, bachelor's, master's, doctoral, or professional degree

    • A community college or junior college program

    • A trade, vocational, or technical school program

    • A certificate or credentialing program through an accredited educational institution

    • An apprenticeship or workforce development program that awards an industry-recognized certification or credential

    All students must submit proof that they’re currently enrolled as a student in PDF form only.

  • Individual Registration

    Students who are not registering through a college, university, club, or esports program may register individually.

    • $50 per student

    Club & Programs Registration

    Collegiate clubs, esports programs, and student groups can register students together.

    • $50 per student for groups with 1–7 participants

    • Flat rate of $400 for groups with 8 or more participants

    HBCU Student Registration

    Students currently enrolled at a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) are able to register for free, either through the individual registration or club/program registration.

    All participants must provide proof of eligibility during registration in a PDF form only. Acceptable forms of verification may include:

    • Unofficial or official transcript

    • Class schedule

    • Enrollment verification letter

    Failure to provide valid proof of eligibility may result in registration denial or removal from the conference.

COMMUNITY Questions

  • We’re always excited and open to looking for new staff members to join CFGC!
    Applications will roll out in a seasonal basis as opportunities arises.

  • CFGC runs a 10-week season, with 4 weeks of seeding pools, and 6 weeks of regular play.

    All players will be placed into Round Robin pools of 3-4 players around your ELO.

  • Yes, you can!
    The CFGC Leadership are currently developing different opportunities that shed light and support to smaller or retro based FG titles. However, the current 4 titles we support will be in conference play only.

  • Yes!

    We support all players streaming or creating content regarding their weekly performances. We ask that you respect our Social Media Guidelines and Community Guidelines when it comes to anything that is put out publicity.

    Anything that violates our guidelines, can result to removal of the conference.
